UL and CE Requirements for Export Oven Lights
For the EU market, products shall obtain CE certification covering the LVD Low Voltage Directive and EMC Directive. In addition to complying with the general luminaire safety standard EN 60598, products must pass long-term high-temperature resistance tests. Compliance with EN 62471 photobiological safety and RoHS substance restrictions is mandatory. Following the implementation of EU ESPR and EPBD regulations, energy efficiency, repairable design and material traceability have also become regular assessment items.
For the North American market, UL safety certification is generally required in accordance with UL 8750 and UL 1598. Assessments focus on the continuous heat resistance of wires, seals and drivers to prevent short circuits and fire hazards caused by high temperatures. Electronic components of the lights need FCC EMC testing. Products shipped to California must additionally satisfy Proposition 65 hazardous substance regulations.
